    HANDGUNS:
    Please Have Your Handgun Shipped in a Padded Zippered Pistol Case or a Small, Hard, Pistol Case.
    In The Event That We Do Not Receive Your Pistol This Way, We Will Ship Your Gun Back In A New, Original Colt Blue Hard Case And Charge You An Additional $55.95. This Case Will Help Ensure That Your Gun Is Properly Packaged For A Safe And Secure Trip Back To You.

    RIFLES:
    Please Ship Your Rifle in a Hard, Plastic Case with a Factory (NOT Homemade) Outer Cardboard Box. We Will Ship it Back to You in Your Case and Box. Package Your Rifle Well so it Doesn’t Break.

    SHIPPING

    NOTICE SHIPPING: As of Jan. 1, 2024 you must ship your handgun or long gun through an FFL DEALER or a private carrier such as www.shipmygun.com

    ANY firearm PURCHASE by an individual MUST BE shipped to a local Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) business/dealer, so that its transfer can be processed in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You can search for an FFL near you online through sites such as www.FFLs.com.

    When shipping a firearm to Custom Shop Inc for repair/restoration, you MUST include a copy of your driver’s license. We will not accept a private party transfer without it. Failing to include your driver’s license could delay our ability to accept your firearm and result in the firearm being returned to you at an additional return shipping charge.

    Please DO NOT ship ammunition with your repair/restoration gun. It is against the law to include ammo with your firearm shipment. Loose ammo or boxed ammo cannot be included. Also, inspect and clear your firearm to ensure it is NOT LOADED prior to packaging.

    HANDGUNS and LONG GUNS: Using an FFL DEALER

    An FFL dealer is a business or individual with a Federal Firearms License. These licensees are usually gun shops, gunsmiths, and manufacturers, but can also be individuals. FFL dealers have been approved by the ATF to do background checks and take all the other necessary steps to transfer guns to individuals legally. Any firearm being shipped to an individual must be shipped to a local FFL dealer so that its transfer can be processed in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. sing an FFL DEALER

    Firearms, including handguns, may ONLY BE SHIPPED through an FFL dealer or a Ups Customer Center (counters at Ups operational facilities). You can find the Customer Center location closest to you using the Ups Drop-Off Find Locations tool. When utilizing this tool, please make sure you are only leaving the Ups Customer Center box checked. Firearms are not accepted for shipment via Ups Drop Boxes, Ups On-Call Pickup®, or at locations of The Ups Store® or any third-party retailer. Ups service is available for the lower 48 states. Unfortunately, service does not provide prepaid labels for Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands at this time.

    An FFL can ship your handgun to us via USPS Priority Mail, which typically is a less expensive option. We will ship your handgun back to your FFL via USPS Priority Mail at a flat rate of $60 (fully insured).
    Make sure your FFL waits until you are present BEFORE opening the package containing your firearm, so you can witness its integrity.

    RIFLES: Shipping Yourself

    You can either ship your rifle to us YOURSELF or go through an FFL DEALER to transfer it. You can ship via either USPS Priority, UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. When shipping a firearm to Custom Shop Inc for repair/restoration, you MUST include a copy of your driver’s license. We will not accept a private party transfer without it. We will ship your rifle back to you via USPS Priority or UPS Ground. However, if you want us to use Federal Express, you will need to provide us with a Pre-Paid shipping label.

    Repair Work Under $500 does not require prior customer approval. Restoration & Repair Work Over $500 will require customer authorization for us to proceed.

    Custom Shop, Inc., reserves the right to cancel any restoration project after acceptance if the project firearm is determined to be a poor candidate for restoration upon closer examination.
